As of January 1, 2017, DIVING FOR FUN will
NO LONGER be offering training services. However, we wanted to continue to provide
a list of the classes we offered along with course outlines as a reference for all our past customers.
Course Overview:
Have you ever wondered what it's like to dive with flashlights, take pictures underwater or
float effortlessly like an Astronaut? If you have, this is your chance to explore these exciting
adventures in a swimming pool. Here's your chance to explore cool Aqua Missions, meet friends and
share in the adventure of the underwater world. And best of all - join a winning team - become a
Seal Team Member.
Prerequisites:
The Seal Team is for young divers (8 to 10 years old) who are looking for an action-packed,
adventurous program filled with exciting scuba "Aqua Missions."
Course Activities:
As a Seal, you learn the basics of safe diving and explore different Aqua Missions - or specialty dives -
like wreck, navigation, buoyancy, underwater photography, environmental awareness and more.
Seal Team program at a glance:
- Level 1 - Aqua Missions 1 - 5 and become a Seal Team Member
- Level 2 - Complete all 8 of the specialties to become a Master Seal Team Member
Forms Required:
You will need to complete and sign the Seals forms.
Materials/Equipment Required:
Seal Team Manual, Seal Team Video/DVD (included in price).
What to Bring:
We provide all equipment for you. All you need to bring is swimsuit and towel.
Where: The course
is conducted at our swimming or other location with pool like conditions.
Length of Course:
If you have read the Seal Team Manual and watch the entire Video/DVD prior to coming to class
then the course will take approximately 2 to 3 hours.

Aqua Mission 1: In your first Aqua Mission, you learn the basics of diving.
You get to breathe underwater, learn about your air gauge and practice hand signals with your instructor
and Seal Team friends. It all starts here - have a great time!
Aqua Mission 1 Skills:
- Shallow water entry
- Put on and adjust gear
- Hand signals (OK, up, down, I have a problem)
- Breathing underwater
- Underwater swimming
- Reading the air gauge
- Air supply signals
- Ear clearing (equalizing)
- Ascents
Aqua Mission 2: Build on your scuba skills by practicing regulator
skills. By learning good regulator recovery methods, you become a more confident diver and great
Seal Team buddy (more on that later).
Aqua Mission 2 Skills:
- Shallow water entry
- Put on and adjust gear
- Hand signals (blow bubbles)
- Regulator removal and blowing bubbles
- Replace regulator and clear (purge button)
- Regulator removal and recovery (in front of diver)
- Mask equalization
- Ascents
Aqua Mission 3:
You learn mask clearing, octopus breathing and hand signal skills. After this Aqua Mission, you're more than halfway to
becoming an official Seal Team member!
Aqua Mission 3 Skills:
- Shallow water entry
- Put on and adjust gear
- Hand signals (low on air, out of air, share air)
- Inflate/deflate BCD at surface (power inflator)
- Descent
- Clear water from mask while underwater
- Octopus breathing (supplied by instructor)
- Ascents
Aqua Mission 4:
You learn what it's like to be weightless - just like an Astronaut in space! Controlling your buoyancy - being able to "hover"
underwater - is one of the most important skills for a Seal.
Aqua Mission 4 Skills:
- Shallow water entry
- Put on and adjust gear
- Regulator removal and recovery (from behind shoulder)
- Replace regulator and clear (blowing hard)
- Fin pivot (power inflator)
- Hovering (power inflator)
- Ascents
Aqua Mission 5:
This is your last Aqua Mission for level one! After this you will be an official Seal Team member! Get ready to show off what
you have learned as you move on to your Specialty Aqua Missions.
Aqua Mission 5 Skills:
- Shallow water entry
- Put on and adjust gear
- Snorkel clearing (blast method)
- Snorkel to regulator exchange
- Surface swim with scuba
Skills Mastery (Skill Circuit):
- Shallow water entry
- Put on and adjust gear
- Snorkel to regulator exchange
- Deflate BCD at surface
- Descent
- Ear clearing (equalizing)
- Breathing underwater
- Underwater swimming
- Reading the air gauge and air supply signaling
- Clear water from mask while underwater

MASTER SEAL TEAM SPECIALTY AQUA MISSIONS |
Creature ID Specialist:
In this Aqua Mission you learn how to identify the aquatic animals in your local area. You will also learn how some of these
animals move or push themselves through the water. It's time to think - and act - like a fish.
Skills:
- Identify aquatic creatures
- Hand signals for aquatic creatures
Environmental Specialist:
In this Aqua Mission, you play the role of a scientist and practice how to search for and uncover the evil secrets of pollution.
Knowing these skills will help you protect the environment above and below the water.
Skills:
- Swim feet high, head low search position
- Underwater clean-up using a search pattern
Inner Space Specialist:
In this specialty Aqua Mission, you learn how to hover in the water like an Astronaut. You will also play games that
require you to float while catching an underwater toy. Can you make it through an underwater obstacle course?
Skills:
Navigation Specialist:
In this specialty Aqua Mission, you learn how to use a compass underwater. You will also learn to measure distance
underwater! It is always good to know where you are going underwater.
Skills:
- Underwater compass use
- Measure distance by counting kick strokes
Night Specialist:
This is one of the best Aqua Missions yet! Whether you are diving in the pool at night, or have the indoor lights
off during the day, you will find diving in the dark exciting and fun. You and your Seal Team Dive buddies will
go crazy over this dive.
Skills:
- Underwater dive light use
Safety Specialist:
Good divers always know what to do if a problem comes up while diving. In this fun - yet important - Aqua Mission, you
will learn how to help your fellow divers if they get in trouble.
Skills:
- Predive safety check (BCD, weights, releases, air, final OK)
- Cramp removal, self and buddy
- Throw a rescue line or float
- Surface buoyancy, self and buddy
- Rescue tow
Search & Recovery Specialist:
Having the skills to find lost items underwater is important to a Seal Team member. In the Search & Recovery
Aqua Mission, you will learn how to search for lost items and bring them to the surface.
Skills:
- Search for a lost item on pool bottom
- Remove object from pool bottom using lift bag
Skin Diver Specialist:
Although you will be spending most of your time underwater as a Seal Team member, good snorkeling skills
always come in handy.
Skills:
- Snorkel equipment adjustment
- Snorkel swim on surface (no hands)
- Blast clear snorkel
- Remove water from mask
- Control direction while swimming
Snapshot Specialist:
As you go through the Snapshot Aqua Mission, you get to try underwater cameras and take pictures of your Seal
Team buddies. They also take pictures of you! Hang your dive pictures everywhere so your friends know you are
a scuba diver!
Skills:
Wreck Specialist:
In this adventure filled Aqua Mission, you learn what it takes to explore a sunken wreck. With the help of your Instructor,
you will learn safe and proper ways to look at sunken treasures.
